Areas of Concentration
To match with the governments policy to promote Taiwan to the World Trade Organization (WTO)focusing on regional center , this department was established to fulfill the needs of enormous financial and banking professionals as the era of future financial liberalization and security marker come, which would lead to enlarge the range of business. This department is especially to train financial, security, insurance, and financial management personnel and to make students to be equipped with the fundamental ability to handle with financial operation to meet the requirements of the banking, security, and insurance institutions.
The main objective of this department has been to cultivate students to become excellent financial professionals of this country since established. Thus, teaching, administration, facilities, and research & development of this department all focus on students. The feature of this department emphasizes teaching quality guarantee system and students prospect planning.

Student prospect planning of the department is to assist student to make well prospect planning and trace adjustment year by year. Based on students expectations on keeping advanced study or looking of jobs, this department established related courses and then assisted them to keep studying or to obtain the licenses.

The Department of Finance and Banking of the KSU stands as one of the best undergraduate programs of its kind in Taiwan. This reputation can be attributed to the excellent students and teachers, the many opportunities students have to obtain valuable practical experiences.
Finance is a vibrant and rapidly evolving field, one that requires a combination of theory, empirical analysis, and field observation. The department's mission is to train professionals who will go on to make important contributions in finance, banking, insurance, and real estate. In pursuit of this goal, the department has recruited outstanding teachers, expanded the facilities and cooperated closely with financial companies.
Achievements
By the strengthening of business English, the students of this Department acquired fourteen awards out of sixteen items in the school's English contests in 2004 academic year. Graduated students, Chen, Yu-chen, obtained the Admission at the Keele University in Manchester, England and Hsiao, Chao-ying obtained the Admission at Birmingham University in Birmingham, England. Li, Pei-hsin, was qualified as a flight attendant in China Airlines Co.
Concurrently, numerous students either graduated or not graduated have passed the tests and awarded with licenses and certificates as follow: Stocks Exchange Operators, High Class Stocks Exchange Operators, Futures, Business Internal Control, Stock Analyst, Investment and Trust Advisory, Trust Accreditation, Finance Planning, Trust Affairs, Bank Internal Control and Lift Insurance. Students are encouraged to get sophisticated licenses as Foreign Exchange, Investment Style Insurance, Life Insurance Broker and Life Insurance Agent.
