Areas of Concentration

In order to meet the demands brought about by international industries and the trend towards design as well as to be in tune with the governmental policy of promoting cultural and creative industries and digital content industries, the Department endeavors to cultivate professional talents with an integrative ability in creative research and development, design practice and marketing. In other words, students are to acquire various specialized skills in advertisement/ commercial design, homepage design, interactive multi-media design, digital content design, 3D animation, planning and marketing, mixed media utilization and so on. In addition, upon graduation every student is to be equipped with the ability to creatively design and to carry out projects so as to become the best leader of design in the new millennium.

Research

Our current research projects include the following areas—Visual communication design, visual perception research, basic arts and design, 2D, 3D computer graphic, multimedia fabrication, website design, computer illustration, project & investigation of design, modern history of design, light movement composition, holographic three-dimensional image, and so forth.

After graduated our students will able to attend national and international graduate school in relate area, such as visual communication design, commercial graphic design, Animation art, Multimedia design, and technology art. Our students had very outstanding record for continue their studies. Since 1990 the first two year program students graduated from the department. The number of the students got accepted to design related graduate schools have largely increased. So far there is total of 72 students continued their studies in graduated schools. Especially student Hun-yi Tseng had got accepted to three graduate school in Japan in the same time. Student Bo-Sung Hong and Graduate student Guang-Ching Da have continuing their Ph.D. studies.

Our student’s professional skills and hand-on experience had very excellent reputation nation wide. Therefore our students are welcomed to most industry and corporation. Their also showed very outstanding performance on their work. They are capable of working in a wide range of design area, such as commercial graphic design, photography, graphic design, web design, interactive multimedia design, 3D animation, graphic layout, and video editing and etc.
