    • Computer Digital Image Photography

    Introducing how to work with Mac environment. Class also mention software systems with discussion of concepts of digital image principles. To be a designer of artist, hold on enhancing photographic skills is requirement for today's art work. So, a standard line up with digital image industry, Adobe Photoshop software will be used in our class. Students must acquaints the basic tool set and all commands such as photo composite color control, layers channels, path and file input, output and retouch techniques etc.

    • Computer Basics

    Learn the basic concept of computers, Internet, and the software document process.

    • Computer Illustration

    By using vector-art applications and soft wares of the Macintosh computers, students will learn to produce and create a variety of symbols, logos, and illustrations.

    • Basic Photography

    For the practical training, this course introduces the character and??? function of camera; as well as the technique of dark room, and the concept of lighting. In theory, the course is focused on the principles of Black/Whit and color photography, the creative idea of photography and the appreciation of image.

    • Web Page Design

    Make the teaching website as supplementary teaching; students can realize the website production in class and moreover, they can review from the website at any time.

This program is for the application on the domain of visual design after being combined with optics, consciousness, and relevant skills as the leading direction; and takes the advantages of the multi-dimension of holographic images to display the conception and perform the dimensions of visual images to offer chances for the flat medias to develop the performances of the visual images in three-dimensional space. The directions of performances are applying the three-dimensional images on poster designs, designs of exhibitions, and relevant visual performances.

Analyzes the interface design of webpage and multimedia CD ROM by demonstrating examples. Besides, discusses the learning theory about interface design. The course goals include: 1.     • Special Topic in Digital Content Production

    Introduces digital media design system, including database technology (ASP, PHP, Coldfusion), interaction and talk design, software debug and packing, and preparing multimedia teaching materials. The course contents focus on interface design of multimedia webpage, integration of network database, and production of digital teaching materials. The course goals include: 1. Students understand what role digital media plays in digital learning and digital archive. 2. Students realize the basic theory of database and make combination of database and webpage. 3. Students are able to finish a digital learning or digital art website.

    • Seminar in Visual and Spatial Design

    Compares the spatial design styles of formal logic, dialectical logic, and virtual logic. By the concept of visual thinking, employs the thoughts of art, spatial aesthetics, and psychology to systematically discuss, analyze the environmental aesthetics based upon visual perception and spatial creation. On the one hand, the course will center on introducing the works of famous masters, and strengthening students??practical intelligence. On the other hand, this course will also guide students to study basic theories, literature, and researches so that they can work on their papers.

    • Aesthetics of Audio-Visual Design

    Studies still images, daily ads, image design, animation, movie, network, virtual technology, recomposition of every type of painting, characters, sound, and design aesthetics. Introduces modern theories about photography, sociology, art, aesthetics, and psychology. Offers and analyzes systematic discussion about media culture phenomenon caused by interaction of media and society.     • Colors and Visual Perception

    Focuses on the fields of color perception and color application. From the viewpoints of technology, culture, society, industry, aesthetics, media, and psychology, discusses the system and structure of color application. This course gives first place to practice with the complement of theory. Helps postgraduates to get familiar with and criticize theories about color application, and start their independent researches to develop research category and find out the feasibility of creating new issues.     • Seminar in Visual Arts: the Bauhaus

    In middle modernism, the integration of art and design at the Bauhaus College in German raised a revolutionary trend of art. From painting, architecture, stage design to handiwork, we can find out that the design element was displayed in art. This course will start at the introduction of history of Weimar Republic where Bauhaus developed; then deeply probe into the rise, transition, and influences of Bauhaus style. Besides, this course will introduce how Bauhaus style is represented in painting, architecture, stage design, and handiwork, and describe geometry style, the concept of industrial design under modernistic aesthetics.

Post-modernism goes deep into multimedia video products, space, and establishment of environment design.     Introduces the design rule of futurism, breaks the habitual thinking of space composition, realizes the interaction between real and virtual space. Studies the essence and style of digital content creation (including animation, space, game, image, ads, concept, product, and creation of fashion culture). Combines function requirement in the future and digital design, helps students to realize the future and own advanced global view by the dialogue of culture and technology.

    • Seminar in Visual Arts: Pop and Commercial Arts

    Pop art, arising in the 1970s, plays a very important role in the modern art history, and in particular, New York pop art and creation led by Andy Warhol is the most vivid. New York pop art does not only demonstrate the dialectical relation between art and business, but also stands for the art thought combined by media, art, and star imagery totem. New York pop art extremely affects the modern business design and visual presentation. By means of introducing concepts of business design and elements of visual presentation in pop art, this seminar guides students to consider the dialectical relation between art creation and business design in the field of visual images. The contents will cover pop art in London, New York, and Europe. This seminar will also introduce the thoughts of post-pop art and creation styles, including painting, sculpture, movie, and ads design.

    • Media Globalization and Creative Industries

    As a result of globalization and digital technology, the environment of communication media has changed from ?oor channel??to ?oor content?? The media is divided into ?icture and character??and ?ntertainment?? The new guideline of media system is highly-capitalized jungle competition and performance management. The reality is that creative thinking is industrialized, and culture is displayed by capital. Upon this basis, thinks back about the thought of culture industry raised by the Frankfurt school, and employs culture globalization discourses, techno-sociology, culture economics, and contemporary management theories to examine the development of video media (movie, animation, game, pop music) in the major countries under globalization and huge change of digital technology. Also, analyzes difficulty, dispute, policy, and solution the media in Taiwan faces.

    • Digital Marketing and Management
