Department of Spatial Design
Core Courses
Our courses frame at the environmental design as the foundation which contains three topics:
- The modern spatial culture, the aesthetic intellection description by designing with environment theory and social culture issues;
- The digital design technique intellection is mainly applying with virtual reality technology in media space;
- The integration of design methods and creation which achieve the target of technology and design combination by digital technology media with culture creation.
- Creative Thinking and Method
- The Theories on Contemporary Design
- Innovation and Marketing Management
- Basic Design I, II
Contents of Basic Design compose gradually to explore creativities and meanings of spatial formation from gaining curiosity to the core of theoretical concepts of spatial design.
- Spatial Design I, II
The programme of Basic Spatial Design emphasized on the enhancement of spatial creativities and training of sense of design abilities.
- Spatial Design III, IV
The programme focuses on the techniques relate to spatial design and extended knowledge.
- Final Degree Design Project I, II
The degree project aims at training students to produce conceptual thinking methods on spatial related themes and topics practically and theoretically.
- Introduction of Spatial Design
Establishment of students?basic understanding on spatial design through lecturing and students?reports to bring about a stronger basis for further studying.
- Spatial Design Graphics
The course addresses to employ the three-dimension drawing technology for establishing the ability that supports design communication and performance.
- Spatial sketch
This is an essential and fundamental core course. Students will fell free to express their ideas by applying sketch skills.
- Three-dimensional composition
This programme teaches student to understand material and technology of three-dimensional composition. Students can also develop many possibilities of materials in their work.
- Basic Computer and internet Theory
This course introduces the basic ideas of image processing and drafting systems for applying to their spatial design associated works.
- Human Engineering
Students can learn the fundamental theories and principles of Human Engineering. Through which they can create a good function of spatial designs.
- Representation techniques
Various drafting tools, such as pencils, spreading, and ink pens, are used to teach students in study drawings, representation drawings, and advance applications.
- Basic Computer Graphic Theory
Students will be able to apply 2D, basic 3D, and web page techniques to their spatial design associated works.
- Architectural and Interior Working Drawings I, II
This course provides the full range of skills, step-by-step evolution of a complete set of architectural and interior working drawings.
- Material and Construction
The particular characteristics of material and construction include fundamental concepts, construction methods, and principles. During design process, the organized material indexes, from production to construction, facilitate understandings and further references.
- Computer Aided Design
This course would like to teach students how to simulate and draw 2D and 3D computer graphics. As a result, students will obtain basic knowledge of CAD software and apply to design process.
- Environmental Visual Thinking
Through the spatial experience and visual analysis, this course will focus on issues of environmental ethics, physical elements of environment, the hierarchy of spatial organization, and the characteristics of urban context.
