Elective Courses

  • Seminar

  • This course is designed for bridging the gap between academic and business worlds. The instructor will invite speakers each week from a variety of industries, such as advertisement, publishing, multimedia, Internet services, etc. to introduce share their real world experience.

  • Multimedia Authoring

  • This course is an integrative program of various digital media design techniques, and focus on enhancing the students』 ability of digital media integration. The course will enhance students the concept of teamwork on digital media project that involved graphics media, off-line multimedia, on-line web media, and video media.

  • Project Production

  • This course provides students different ways of media production and/or research. Students are helped to find proper topics for their final projects of graduation. At the end of the semester, students are asked to turn in and defense their proposals that will be implemented during the following the course Project Production

  • Marketing Communication

  • This is an introductory course to marketing communication from an integrated approach. Students will learn the IMC (Integrated Marketing Communication) process and marketing tools. The course will highlight case studies in the arena of marketing communication.

  • Fundamentals of Human Behavior

  • Surveys basic principles of cognitive and social psychology relevant to the design and use of information systems. Focuses on important findings in psychological science and their implications for the design and use of information systems. Topics include the basics of human perception, memory capacity and organization, the development of skill and expertise, and the characteristics of everyday reasoning and decision making. For example, a central problem in information science is how to label information stored for later recall. By examining how human memory operates, we can gain some insight into possible schemes that may be compatible with human users. This survey of what we know about the human mind offers ideas about how to exploit mental capacities in the design and use of information systems.

  • Introduction to Telecommunication Technology

  • This course is designed to lead students get a clear picture of the telecommunications field, through understanding high-speed access technologies-including DSL and broadband, discovering how wireless and virtual private networks function, and learning about the Internet and Convergence.

  • Interactive Script Production

  • This course is designed for interactive game development and writing. Students will learn the construction of a game design document, and basic story-telling skills. The course will cover from creativity, game analysis, and game play to level design.

  • Networks Database System

  • This course is the advanced course of Internet programming. The goal is to train up students design abilities of network database system. The major topics include basic function of relational database, PHP language learning, and MySQL database system introduction and programming. Finally, case studies will also be included.

  • Interactive Device Workshop

  • The objective of the goal is to learn how to write the interactive devices programming. The topics include input device programming, image processing programming, computer vision programming, motion detection programming, speech recognition programming, computer animation and game programming. Case studies of integral interactive devices will also be included.
