Core Courses

  • Computer Programming

  • This course introduces logic required in basic programming and problem solving to the students. The logic learned is the fundamental requirement of advanced computer programming courses

  • Introduction to Multimedia Design

  • This course teaches the student the theories, elements, and software components used in the production of multimedia. Lecture topics will include basic concepts about storyboarding, scripting, computer hardware and peripherals, and editing of text, sound, graphics, animation and video.

  • User-Interface Design

  • Provides an introduction to user-interface design from a design principles perspective. The course covers such topics as accessibility, design ethics, psychological principles, interaction principles, requirements analysis, project management, I/O devices, standards and style guides, and visual design principles. The perspective is a pragmatic, applied view of design, with frequent practical design exercises.

  • Website Design

  • In this course the basic techniques of designing web pages and the theory of constructing a practical web site are introduced to students. The course contains three parts: web page design, web multimedia design and website project.

  • Multimedia Programming

  • This course introduces the basic concepts of programming for multimedia. Students will learn the principles of object-oriented programming and how to use script language to create multimedia events for the manipulation of text, sound, graphics, video, and animation, and to construct a complete multimedia presentation.

  • Digital Imaging Processing

  • This course will introduce the concept of Digital Image Processing and hands-on operation of the software. Coursework is mostly comprised around the software 「Photoshop」 and its popular functions as well as introduction and appreciation of exemplary domestic and foreign works and discussions into the visual concept and theoretical foundations needed for image processing.

  • Interactive Script Production

  • This course is designed for interactive game development and writing. Students will learn the construction of a game design document, and basic story-telling skills. The course will cover from creativity, game analysis, and game play to level design.

  • System analysis and Planning

  • For requests of performance on digital media project design, this course will focus on media quality management of hypermedia engineering to provide the basic work-flow training at "System Structure", "System Analysis Method", and "System Design, Development, Testing, and Maintenance".

  • Information Architecture for the World Wide Web

  • Web sites and intranets are getting larger and more complex. Users have a frustrating time finding the information they need. Webmasters are more challenged than ever before to effectively develop and maintain their growing and evolving sites. The purpose of the program was let students learned how to design web sites and intranets that support growth management, navigation, and ease of use.

  • Information-Communication Theories

  • This is an introductory course to theories of human communication in the information society. The course will highlight milestone studies in the arena of communication, such as communications effects, uses and gratification and diffusion of innovation.
