Areas of Concentration
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, established in 1966, is one of the pioneer Departments of Kun Shan University. Since its inception, the Department has devoted to develop excellent research and innovative design capabilities. The fields of specialty range widely, including innovative design, precision manufacturing, control, image processing, reverse engineering, medical mechatronics, materials, micro fluidics, energy, MEMs, optoelectronics, vehicle engineering, etc.
Research
The research areas of this Department are detailed as follows:
- Micro-precision Manufacturing : Micro sensor, micro-machining, MEMS, nano-materials, Micro RP system, medical mechatronics'subtle vibration
- Information Equipment & Engineering: Nano testing, molecular dynamics, microscopic mechanics, micro heat transfer, optical engineering, biomedical engineering.
- Intelligent Vehicle Engineering: Design of micro system, intelligent vehicle, fuel cells, energy, environmental protection, bio-diesel, hydrogen fue
Superiority
The Department will constantly enhance research cooperation ties with nearby research centers and cooperation. Establishing theme research laboratories and recruiting new faculty members with corresponding specialization are scheduled in our future plan as well. Above all, providing Ph. D program will be our ultimate goal.
