ICDF international student paper contest Sherif Muhamedou Hydara’s work on “Symbiosis Between Micro-algae and Calcifying Organisms for Balancing Carbon Budget” enters the final of the ICDF international student paper contest. The competition will be held on May 23, Taipei.

International students’ work recognized in the senior project contest April 18, 2014 Venturi type blades wind generator by Rodyn Gillhanry from Belize and Calos Campos from El Salvador received recognition in senior project contest. Other works include device for bacteria control of cutting fluid, intelligent electro-thermal energy exchanger, intelligent medicine inhaling device, automatic headlight controller, and etc.

Six-year IEET extension of accreditation April 2014, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KSU received six-year extension of IEET accreditation. The department has been recognized for its facility, research, and internationalization. The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET 中華工程教育學會, literally Chinese Institute of Engineering Education) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to accreditation of engineering and technology education programs in Taiwan.

Students from KSU won 2013 Macronix Golden Silicon Award

A KSU team won the gold medal and 300,000 NT with “Fast ventilation and high efficiency heater and air conditioner”. The entered the contest in the application section. Prof. Wong also won the best advisor award.



International students spend Chinese new year eve with professors

The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the death of a patriotic poet Qu Yuan (c. 340–278 BCE). The festival occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunisolar Chinese calendar. The two teams from KSU competed with other 9 international teams. Formed by students from Central America and Africa, “Bubble tea” team took the first place. Formed by students form Malaysia, Mainland China, and Indonesia, “Racing Dragon Horse” team took the second place. They have never participated in team boat racing in their native countries.
