Teacher's Income and Benefit Description

(1) Teacher's Status

  • Professor: those who had been conferred a certificate of associate professorship for at least three years and had been certified/ conferred the status of professorship by the Ministry of Education
  • Associate Professor: those who had been conferred a certificate of assistant professorship for at least three years and had been certified / conferred the status of associate professorship by the Ministry of Education
  • Assistant Professor: those who finished their doctorate studies or instructor who had been certified / conferred the status of assistant professorship by the Ministry of Education after three or more years of being an instructor.
  • Instructor: those who held the degree of master and had been certified/ conferred the status of instructor.

(2)Income ( all dollars are in New Taiwan Dollar)

  • Professor: basic salary as N.T. 37915, academic study sponsor fees as N.T. 53340
    (2b) Associate Professor: basic salary as N.T. 32425, academic study sponsor fees as N.T. 44290
  • Assistant Professor: basic salary as N.T. 29515, academic study sponsor fees as N.T.38,675
  • Instructor: basic salary as N.T. 24670, academic study sponsor fees as N.T.30385.
    In addition to basic salary, other allowances are available - -
  • Newly arrived PhD-degree holder will receive an additional money of N.T. 20000 every month for two years. This is not applicable for the new teachers in the college of engineering
  • Those who hold important positions related to school administration will receive an additional money of N.T. 17180 to 34840, based on the positions they have.
  • Those who are engaged in different study plan/ project within this campus will receive more money, thus have bigger income
  • Various projects' academic study sponsor fees range from N.T. 15000 to N.T. 26000
  • Excess teaching fees are applicable for teachers -- professor's one hour's income is N.T. 795, associate professor's one hour's income is N.T. 685, Assistant professor's one hour's income is N.T. 630. Only four hours of additional teaching hours are allowed every week.
  • The working experiences /years, no matter in private or public organizations, will be recognized in the calculation of salary for teachers who are Phd degree holders.

(3) Benefit

  • Teachers are entitled to participate in the Government Civil Servant Insurance Program and they have to pay the designated portion of fees ( 35%)
  • Teachers are entitled to participate in National Health Insurance Program and they have to pay the designated portion of fees ( 30%)
  • This school provides a comprehensive retirement plan
  • This school has faculty cafeteria and swimming pool
  • This school provides regular service in health check-up and staff tour. Senior teachers will be awarded.
  • This school provides the study equipment

(4) Obligation

  • The basic teaching workload per week in this school are varied - - professor should teach at least eight hours per week, associate professor should teach at least nine hours per week, assistant professor should teach at least ten hours per week. Every teacher should come
    to school at least four days per week.
  • Every teacher will be assigned to a study group and should submit at least two study proposals to the National Science Council.
  • Teachers may need to support and assist school administration and be asked to be chairpersons or in other administration-related positions.

(5) Contract:

  • A new teacher's first contract /second contract are all one-year contract. The
    new contract be switched to two-year contract after teaching for two years
    within this school
