Academic Administration
The mission of this office emphasizes on service, quality and efficiency. To meet the economic development of our country and the trends of local enterprises, we formulate an innovative academic plan, work out the academic rules, set up instruction and learning platform. The office consists of three sections, and each section is devout and responsible for its major duty to help all the faculties and the students.
Registration Section: This section handles student affairs including recruiting, enrollment, status, achievement, the review of required credits and graduate certificate.
Curriculum Section: This section regulates courses, curriculum system, teaching evaluation, instruction hours and school calendar.
General Affairs Section: This section manages school self-evaluation, recruiting of new graduate students, the qualified examinations of graduate students, the issue of Kun-Shan Journal, the activities of forum and the exhibition of monographic research.
Academic characteristics
We keep on enriching the equipment and promoting the quality of teaching and research. Therefore, our school has stood for the highest level of technological and vocational education. Now KSU has high percentage of teachers with their doctoral degrees, and lots of them have professional certificates and more than two-year experience of practical training. To cultivate successors with the technology of engineering, business administration information science and creative media, we set up a curriculum committee. According to the plan of intermediate and long development, the students’ anticipation and the needs of local enterprises, this committee design structural courses, orientated courses, multiple-career courses and stress on experiment, do monographic research, and construct the environment of English leaning and training. Besides, we put emphasis on both technology and humanity and keep the educational objectives of General Education (knowledge, compassion and morality) to train our students to be all-rounder and to maintain an international vision. Furthermore, through the use of an e-learning instructional platform, instructors are encouraged to develop digitized instructional materials, distant-learning courses and enhance network and media instruction. Computer network technique is applied to the data systems for recruiting, achievement requiring, score calculation, the management of students’ status, courses-taking or dropping, course management and teaching evaluation, which provide rapid and convenient on-line access. We invest all instructional resources to maintain the goal of pragmatic teaching and science applying.
