You can find many good shops and restaurants along the Da-Wan Road (the road in front of the University). In addition, eating and shopping in the downtown Tainan City could be an alternative. You can catch a taxi or take a bus (a 20-minute ride) at the bus stop opposite the main gate of the University.
Pubs in Taiwan are similar to those you see on the big screen. They offer beer, champagne, wine, ect. to people over eighteen. Their opening hours are diverse form one to another. The prices of meal in restaurants are also very diverse. You have to check in advance. Ethnic restaurants are also available in Taiwan.
There are a couple of shops for food, snacks and stationery items in the campus, such as book stores, 7-11 convenience stores, etc.
